The word garden comes from Latin word Geneden, "Gen" means wall, "eden"means paradise.It describes the background of chinese garden very well.At the end of Qing emperor China fall into the war with western countries. So the sourthern China become only peaceful part of China.So the richers and officals chose sourhtern China as their final home.
